A warm welcome from SoftwareSuggest, Mr Girish Rowjee. What is your success mantra? (Something you have followed personally that has helped you in your journey.)
Our success is a process, not a destination. Maintaining a growth attitude, in my opinion, is crucial for success and personal progress. A growth mindset pushes us to embrace challenges, learn from failure, and continually improve ourselves, making it a potent instrument for personal progress and achievement.
We have set clear and achievable goals to help stay focused and motivated. To achieve the same, we keep our employees motivated, and we have been able to work together as a team during difficult times.
We need to continuously try and reinvent so that we have something new to offer, improve on our earlier offerings and bring value to the table. At greytHR, we have continuously been able to upgrade our products and services to meet the requirements of our clients. Being a customer-focused company, we continuously innovate and develop new solutions that address our customers’ evolving needs.
How has Greytip Software equipped itself to deal with the Covid-19 situation better?
HR Tech has been a key enabler in helping organizations transition to the “new normal” both during and post-pandemic. As employees went remote, it was critical to find ways to keep them engaged and build a sense of belonging with the organization. Information exchange was made possible through the tools in our apps. This could be on employee events like birthdays or department/company-related events. Mobile apps have been a very effective way to communicate with the staff. A lot of HR work also happens on mobile apps. It could be attendance tracking, performance evaluation, recruitment, etc.
We concentrated on keeping customers who couldn’t pay during the pandemic. Discounts were offered to the clients during this time. And we took measures to ensure that our clients could continue to use the software since they still needed to conduct their jobs to survive and pay their staff. By doing this, the financial burden of the clients was reduced, preserving their trust in greytHR. Many of our team members and customers recognized the value our business offers, enabling us to scale the growth we are currently experiencing.
Our readers are keen to know what prompted you to create Greytip Software. Tell us about your journey so far.
We have always wanted to aid small businesses by providing them with the tools that larger corporations enjoy. We founded greytHR with a primary focus on the small and medium enterprises that serve as the country’s economic backbone. We found that most of the firms were wanting to sell their software to companies outside India. We saw the gap here and took up the opportunity to serve Indian firms. This obsessive drive to assist Indian companies to succeed and grow is what keeps us going. We aim to democratize software by providing easy access to software and automation technologies. And, as of now, more than 20,000+ enterprises use greytHR. We believe that the work we perform will have a major influence on the organizations with whom we collaborate.

To address this demand and cater to these changed requirements, we have brought in multiple changes to greytHR. We now have a completely paperless boarding, exit process, Aadhaar authentication for ID verification, facial recognition-based attendance, an AI chatbot to answer employee queries, etc. The whole idea is to enable all the requirements for remote working of employees. Going forward, too, a large amount of innovations and work will happen in this area.
Where do you see Greytip Software in the next 5 years?
Our aim is to reach one lakh customers in the near future. We believe the market in India is very large, and this is still a small number in that context.
From a customer location perspective, we have reached more than 250+ cities. We see a large number of traditional businesses and organizations in Tier-II and Tier-III cities will also adopt HR Tech.
As an organization, we believe that we need to help our customers, especially the SMBs, to solve the full problem and help them run good HR & Payroll departments. We are working on providing a lot more than just software tools.
In terms of increasing the pace of growth, we have adopted a multi-channel model to achieve this. We are working with a number of Reseller Partners in various cities, who are helping us connect with customers. We have also established tie-ups with banks like ICICI and HSBC, with whom we are providing bundled solutions.
Are there any ideological principles that your organization follows to maintain the brand value?
As an organization, we believe that a brand is an outcome of superlative employee experience and customer experience. The former impacts the latter.
The performance and reliability of our platform are unmatched since this is what our brand stands for. Actually, I am tempted to say, “You can’t go wrong with greytHR”.
Of course, we won’t rest on our laurels. But we’ll continue to innovate and improve our service delivery. There’s no better way to evolve as a brand and as an organization.
What is your advice to young entrepreneurs?
I would like to share that success is a combination of a small dose of inspiration and a large dose of perspiration.
In the IT Industry, things change very rapidly. The skills that we learn today become obsolete very soon. So, to survive and thrive here, we should develop the ability to learn, unlearn and relearn continuously.
