Highlights:
- On May 22, RingCentral opened a new office just north of Dallas.
- We sat down with Senior Manager of Advanced Support Operations Megan Moore to hear about the new location and the teams that will call Dallas home.
RingCentral recently opened a new office to complement its three other US locations-Belmont, CA, Denver, CO, and Charlotte, NC. Strategically located just outside of Dallas, the new Addison location will serve as a second hub for RingCentral’s Customer Success and Support team. Senior Manager of Advanced Support Operations Megan Moore sat down with us to share her excitement about the new office and talk about RingCentral’s expansion into Texas. Did I mention they named their copy machines “Ribs” and “Brisket”? Needless to say, working in Dallas is going to be loads of fun!
What makes Addison special?
“Our Dallas office provides us with a great location to serve our customers and an opportunity for our teams to collaborate in person while continuing to provide flexible work arrangements,” says Parvesh Sethi, SVP of Professional Services. RingCentral’s new Texas offices are strategically located in Addison, a trendy town north of downtown Dallas featuring a growing tech community and two sizable green spaces, 12-acre Vitruvian Park and 10-acre Addison Circle Park. Addison’s parks are considered some of the most beautiful in Texas with over 75,000 tulips blooming there each spring. Also worth noting, there are 200 restaurants for just 16,000 permanent residents, making Addison the town with the most restaurants per capita in the US. With over 150 special events annually, there is always something exciting going on in town. The North Dallas Corridor is also home to a thriving telecommunications industry and many of RingCentral’s strategic partners.
Offices with amenities.
The new RingCentral office space is over 35,000 square feet with Texas-themed murals throughout, multiple wellness rooms, a ground-floor kitchen, and social area. The building offers a fitness center, a rooftop deck with outdoor seating, an on-site cafe, and yes, covered parking. Lunch is catered and delivered daily for the entire staff along with snacks and refreshments. The spacious kitchen area features a ping-pong table where employees regularly challenge each other to friendly competition. And speaking of friendly competition, Denver is eager to challenge Dallas to find out who will be the next Chicken Nugget Eating Champion, (an illustrious title amongst RingCentral’s cognoscenti). Rumor has it there will also be fun and familiar Mario Kart races in the future.
Relocating for expansion.
Megan Moore, RingCentral’s Senior Manager of Advanced Support Operations was so excited to build another Customer Support and Success team in Texas, she relocated from the Denver office to join the new office. With most of the Customer Support team currently in Denver, Megan is hopeful to eventually have the team split 50/50 to cover more time zones and have a backup office. After being in Denver for so long, Megan says it’s refreshing to see the new talent pool in Texas. She looks forward to expanding her team and filling some empty seats.
Continuing customer success.
What qualities does Megan look for in new talent? “A top thing for me is empathy for our customers. We are not here to just fix something and leave. We are here to make sure that they are having a great experience with RingCentral as an application and as a product. That all starts with empathy.” She also likes to see a drive for knowledge and a desire to learn. “We are constantly changing and upgrading and updating. You have to have a constant thirst for knowledge along with the ability to learn and pivot as we change, we are a growing organization.” The Dallas office is aiming to grow another 30 percent by the end of 2023 and some of those recruits will come straight from the University of Texas campus.
A grand opening.
They say everything’s bigger in Texas, and our grand opening day was no exception. Employees were greeted with a RingCentral backpack filled with branded items like reusable cups, car visors, notebooks, and pens. RingCentral’s President and COO Mo Katibeh flew out to welcome new team members and share the vision for Dallas along with some of the perks employees could look forward to. This was followed by a Q&A. Other leaders in attendance included:
- Helen Vu, VP of Global Real Estate and Workplace
- Parvesh Sethi, SVP of Professional Services
- Michael Labunski, Interim Chief Digital Officer
- Alex Shumway-Jones, VP of Expansion Sales & BDR
- Chris Donan, VP of Sales, Major Accounts
- Mike Conlon, VP of Global Strategic Partners
- Shiraz Hasan, VP GTM Strategy & Strategic Alliances
- Kris Ryan, VP of Sales Operations
That afternoon RingCentral supported a local business by providing BBQ lunch to employees. Finally, there was a DJ on site for happy hour which included a raffle. Everyone had a great time getting to know their new colleagues and also enjoyed playing ping-pong in the spacious kitchen.
What sets RingCentral apart?
Ask any employee what makes RingCentral different and they’ll say it’s the culture, and Dallas is quickly mirroring the company’s global culture. There’s an understanding that inclusivity and collaboration are essential, that’s how the best innovation happens.
It’s been refreshing to be here and see many of our team members build and extend relationships and see how many of the new hires are already taking advantage of being in the office, connecting with more established employees while learning about our company culture. I love the fact that we have so many open collaboration areas for our cross-functional team members to come together and brainstorm ideas.
We’re looking forward to seeing the growth, innovation, and success of our newest office!
