What is the structure of a case study?

The whole case study should be divided into 4 basic components:-
1. Preliminary questions
2. Understanding the core
3. Structuring
4. Summarizing

1. Asking Preliminary Questions- These are asked to basically clarify the whole scenario of the case problem. These can be divided into 3 main components, i.e, clarifying the objectives which is about finding the metric to decide the success of a problem, understanding the client which is all about knowing the geography and mechanisms of their working and some spidey-sense info such as some technical terms that might make it easier to solve a problem.
2 &3. Understanding the core and structuring a case interview – This stage deals with in-depth understanding of the various factors, identify and then decide on a favourable framework of the problem that we need to operate on.
4. Summarizing a case study or case interview – This involves telling the clients about the main objectives that have been highlighted, the framework selected after prior evaluation and understanding of the problem and then any kind of recommendations for the clients, if any.
Tips and suggestions for how to crack case study interviews:-
There are a few things that can help with cracking case studies.
1. Take pauses. This helps calm down and think better.
2. Ask preliminary questions. This helps generate an overall idea about where the problem can lie.
3. Break the problem into as many parts as as possible. This helps consolidate the problem into one bucket.
4. Ask technical terms and do go for it.
